Jamie Carragher hilariously recreates Kevin Keegan’s iconic ‘I will love it if we beat them’ speech as title race between Liverpool and Man City hots up

Jamie Carragher hilariously recreated Kevin Keegan’s ‘I will love it if we beat them’ speech with the Premier League title race hotting up even more.

Manchester City suffered a blow in their bid to retain their crown as they could only manage a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

The result sees City go four points clear at the top, however, Liverpool will go just a point behind if they win their game in hand.

However, that game in hand is against a resurgent Arsenal side, who have won their last five Premier League matches.

Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones made the point about how those points are by no means guaranteed for Liverpool, saying “they’ve still got to go and get something”, much like Keegan did in that iconic rant.

And Carragher delivered the hilarious punchline, bellowing: “And I will love it!”

City boss Pep Guardiola couldn’t fault the efforts of his players despite their lack of composure in front of goal.

“They did absolutely everything to win the game,” he said. “We played a really good game, a really, really good game at a difficult stadium and (against) a difficult side that defends deep.

“Football is the only game (where) it happens where statistics doesn’t count, if you don’t score a goal you don’t win it.

“Luck doesn’t exist in football. We have to score goals and we didn’t do it. We played to score goals and concede few. We struggled a little bit.

“It was an incredible effort from Crystal Palace, a fantastic team who defend really well.”

Guardiola, who admitted he’d be watching Liverpool’s clash against Arsenal on Wednesday night, added: “There are still nine games, a lot of points.

“There are many, many games still and the way we play in general is more than good, but we didn’t win and we drop two points.

“We have points and one game more, (at the) international break we will be the leader – but who knows?

“We played a fantastic football game in all departments. We created a lot of chances to win and were unfortunate not to score.”
