Wood joins Newcastle, Man United told Lamptey fee, Rudiger update, Digne parting shot

The January transfer window is in full swing and nobody is busier than Newcastle.

Having already landed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid for £12million, the newly-rich Magpies have snapped up Chris Wood from Burnley in a £20million deal.

Newcastle have also lodged a bid of £28million for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa have also been busy, securing the deal of the window so far by landing Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.

The club have also signed Lucas Digne from Everton, with the defender having a parting dig at Rafa Benitez, while Villa winger Anwar El-Ghazi looks set to go the other way and join the Toffees.

Manchester United may also dip into the transfer market this month and have been linked with Tariq Lamptey, while Arsenal could sign Arthur on loan from Juventus.
