That figure has already been smashed time summer with the Premier League’s top clubs spending big once again.
Chelsea broke the British transfer record to sign Moises Caicedo while Arsenal spent over £100million on Declan Rice and Man United forked out £72m for Rasmus Hojlund.
With time to spend running out, will we see any more huge deals go through in the final week of the window?
When is deadline day?
The Premier League have confirmed that clubs will have until Friday, September 1 to make their signings.

The window will close at 11pm on that date with deadline day deals expected to go down to the wire.
The EFL deadline will be on the same day while it is also the same across Europe.
La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 will follow England with their deadline day date of September 1.
There were some huge deals on deadline day in the Premier League last summer, with Antony and Manuel Akanji being the standout arrivals.
So if this window is to close with transfers anything like the last, then fans are in for a treat as more huge names make their big-money moves.
