Paul Pogba: Manchester United star’s home burgled ‘while our babies were sleeping in their bedroom’

Paul Pogba’s house was burgled while his children were at home sleeping, the Manchester United star has said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night while he played for Manchester United against Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford in the Champions League.

Pogba said in a post on Twitter: “Last night our family’s worst nightmare was realised when our home was burglarised while our babies were sleeping in their bedroom.

“The burglars were in our home for less than five minutes but in that time they took something from us more valuable than anything we had in our home… our sense of safety and security.”

“This occurred during the final moments of last night’s match when they knew that we would not be home.

“My wife and I rushed home not knowing if our children were safe or unharmed. As a father there is no feeling worse in this world than not being there to protect your children and I sincerely hope no one ever has to feel what I felt last night.

“It is for this reason that I would like to offer a reward for anyone who has a clue to help us.”

It was also Pogba’s 29th birthday on Tuesday.

Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Atletico Madrid on Tuesday and were knocked out of the Champions League having lost 2-1 on aggregate.

The burglary comes months after the home of Pogba’s United teammate Victor Lindelof was broken in to as he played against Brentford. His wife and children had to lock themselves away for safety.

Then, in December, Man City player Joao Cancelo was assaulted during a break-in at his home, which left him with a cut above his eye.
