Manchester United have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to sign Schalke defender Ozan Kabak in the January transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to strengthen his defensive ranks with the Turkey international one of a host of options the club are considering.
RB Leipzig are also understood to be weighing up a move for the 20-year-old, who only joined the Bundesliga side from fellow German club Stuttgart last summer.
He left boyhood side Galatasaray that January, but impressed so much that Schalke activated his €15million (£13.5m) release clause just six months later.
His current deal runs until June 2024, and he has been described as ‘sensational’ value.
Sky Germany recently claimed that Kabak had his eye on joining either a bigger Bundesliga side or make a switch to the Premier League.
Schalke are said to be ‘ready to sell’, with a potential swap deal involving Liverpool’s Champions League hero Divock Origi recently mooted.
They are also understood to have lowered their asking price to £25m from £40m due to financial worries, which could spark a bidding war.
