You know you’re playing well when your social media team claim they’re disappointed that you only scored six goals.
And that’s exactly what Fulham posted when they just beat Bristol City 6-2 on Saturday.
To be fair, after you travel away to Reading and score seven, you probably have the right to be underwhelmed with one goal less at home just a few days later.
That was the third time Fulham have scored six or more goals this season, after the away thrashing at Reading and Blackburn (whom they beat 7-0 at Ewood Park earlier this campaign).
Fulham now have 64 goals in the Championship this term, which is more than what the three teams (Barnsley, Derby and Peterborough) have scored combined (62).
The Cottagers, who look like they’re set for an immediate return to the Premier League under former Watford boss Marco Silva, have been playing some fantastic football this season.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has been their star man, the Serbian scoring 27 goals in 24 games in the Championship.
The current record for goals in a season was set by Brentford’s Ivan Toney last season, who scored 31, a record Mitrovic will undoubtedly break if he doesn’t leave in January.
Silva also has the likes of Harry Wilson, Neeskens Kebano, and youngster Fabio Carvalho to call upon in forward areas – no wonder they’ve scored so many goals.
And it’s likely no one will be disappointed if the west Londoners get promoted and continue to play this way in the top-flight next season.
Premier League clubs, be warned – their football may leave you at sixes and sevens…
