Champions League final date: Man City take on Inter Milan in showpiece event

Manchester City will finally look to get their hands on the Champions League trophy and complete the treble when they meet Inter Milan in the final next week.

The Citizens have dominated English football since Pep Guardiola has taken charge but have never managed to win Europe’s greatest prize.

City have reached the final and the semi-final in the tournament’s last two iterations but now couldn’t wish for a better opportunity.

The Etihad outfit thrashed reigning champions Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate and could still complete a historic treble after beating Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final.

City will now face Inter after the Italian giants overcame their inner-city rivals AC Milan 3-0 over two legs to set up an intriguing clash.

The Nerazzurri finished third in Serie A but are three-time Champions League winners – last winning the competition under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

Noel Gallagher promised on talkSPORT to watch City’s European final with the club’s supporters branch in San Diego.

While on White and Jordan, Citizens fan Christie, who is the chair of San Diego’s branch of City’s official supporter’s club, called in at 4.30am PDT with an offer Gallagher couldn’t refuse.

The Oasis icon replied: “Good morning! I think my reputation precedes me, Simon’s reputation is far worse.

“I didn’t have plans, but I do now! You’ll have to give me some kind of address.

“I’d love to come and watch it with you lot, it’ll be great!”
